Round 1 Recap – Phillip Island 🏁

Round 1 of the 2025 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia season is officially in the books, and it's great to see racing underway again. Off the back of extensive reconditioning over the summer break, Ben Taylor’s auticon-backed Porsche 991.2 Cup Car was in tip-top shape throughout the weekend, but—as is often the case—Phillip Island delivered some tricky conditions that tested the entire field.

Friday’s free practice sessions and Saturday’s qualifying proved challenging, with Ben unable to fully settle into a rhythm. That put him 18th on the grid for Race 1. After a solid launch off the line, a touch from behind mid-race dropped him down the order, but he fought back to cross the line in 19th.

Sunday brought positive progress. With a clean drive and consistent pace, he moved forward to finish 16th in Race 2 and rounded out the weekend’s final race, the Enduro, in 17th position.

“It’s a privilege to race alongside so many talented drivers,” he said on his social channels. “There’s plenty to build on from here, and I’m feeling more dialled in with every lap.”

A big thank you goes to the Wall Racing team for their support in the lead-up to and throughout the first race weekend together, as well as his driver coach, Fabian Coulthard. Eyes now turn to Round 2 in Sydney next month—onwards and upwards!
